Quidditch

Postby samuraix47 » Fri Apr 20, 2012 3:17 pm

A demo of the Muggle version of the co-ed sport of Quidditch that is being played across college and high school campuses around the world. There are over 600 teams and numerous regional tournaments and the Quidditch World Cup which will be taking place in March/April of 2013 (location TBD, a possibility for Boston).

I can arrange for a local team and a rep from the IQA (International Quidditch Assoc http://www.internationalquidditch.org/) to come and demonstrate, possibly in the same room as LARP or one of the ballrooms. Not a full size pitch, but maybe half-court type arrangement. An explanation of the rules and gameplay and then a minor scrimmage. Tackling rules can be modified to minimal touching (like basketball).

Also the Kidditch version for Fast Track.

Interested in seeing some there is a tournament happening tomorrow (4/21) at Tufts Univ., another tourney on the 28th at Harvard before the Boston Cannons Lacrosse game, and on the Commons almost every weekend by Emerson students. More will be happening in the Fall.

I think this would be awesome! Treat it like the Larps.
