Everything I learned, I learned by gaming

Postby sle » Tue Aug 21, 2012 9:00 am

Gaming and gamification are one of the latest hot thing in education and business.

(See Jane McGonigal: Gaming can make a better world TEDTalk: http://www.ted.com/talks/jane_mcgonigal ... world.html)

How have skills you have learned through/in gaming (of all of the various types) positively affected other realms of your personal or professional life?
Is gamification of society a good thing or a bad thing?
Where are the boundaries?
Are there pitfalls?
How does this impact "early adapters," "lifestyle" and/or "niche" gamers?

[note: should this be fan interest? I keep going back and forth on it, but ended up here.]
