Let's talk about the state of western animation. Disney and Pixar, while mired in sequels and remakes, are making new and interested IPs, Dreamworks keeps trying really hard and almost getting there, and for some reason, not enough people care about Laika's stop motion work. Cartoon Network is finding huge success with board-driven shows such as Adventure Time and Steven Universe, where Disney manages not to mess with Gravity Falls, keeping it interesting and unique.

People keep thinking that CalArts is the place to be if you want to break into animation and hey - let's talk about all of this!
